NIKOLAS KOSKINAS // director, producer

Visual language is the primary form of communication in modern society. But what makes it so universal? If I had to choose one word, it would be expression. As the years go by, we crave visual expression more and more. Think about the progression of the internet: we began with text, then photos, and now moving images dominate. A natural evolution. Movement adds an extra layer of communication that humanity has experimented with since the Paleolithic age. Perhaps it is wired into our DNA, helping us understand the world with greater depth while entertaining our senses. Even as a child, before primary school, I would draw frames of fight sequences and tape them together to create motion on paper. Visual storytelling has always fueled my nature, explaining my love for filmmaking. For me, art means touching someone’s soul without explanation. If you can evoke emotion, you’ve created art and filmmaking is the endless pursuit of this expression.
